Headphone Daddy
Hello!
I made these headphones using Scrub Daddy sponges. The open-cell material reduce and absorb reflections that emit from the back of the speaker.
On all headphones and speakers, the sound coming off the back of the speaker driver is essentially equal to sound coming off the front. Which causes things like standing waves (when sound pressure bumps into itself) and other types of distortion.
Which is why headphone designers love open-back headphones (no reflections!) and speaker designers love thick/rigid speaker cabinets (the backwave is trapped!)
Headphone Daddy's frequency response matches the Harman Curve very closely, but with flat bass similar to a planar magnetic headphone.
Detailed and neutral sounding. 50mm dynamic drivers, various sound damping materials, and of course Scrub Daddys.
The only thing I don't love about this headphone is the 3rd party headband. It's comfortable, but a bit finicky when sizing for your head. If you end up breaking the headband, let me know and I'll get you a new one (it's just 4 screws; super easy to replace).
Thanks for checking it out!
